Starting summer period

Generally, I work during summer and winter and sleep during autumn and spring. So another funny season is starting and first signs are revealing.
I am writing for Turkish Chilli, my new article is about to finish. For information, I generally write 2-3 pieces a month, but only 1 of them is published so that I can try to have a better style.
Do not buy Vista laptops, I have an MSI with Vista and it seems like there is a problem with hibernation. This is the 5th time, I reseted my hard drive
Hope to post my new article soon

Rafting

A break to all this full steam work life has been very relaxing. I am still alive. Not drowned yet, but swallowed a pool of water.

An Absurd Turkish Arabesk Song: Tosuno

My comments about Tosuno , which you should definitely see:

After months of struggle, I am happy to listen to my mom and not write
about politics, for some time. It is like writing about the need for shades
in
hurricane season. This doesn’t mean that the things that I am writing are
less
important, but considering the time and politics in Turkey, it seems
irrelevant.
But this thing inside my mind is not resting and I better share
it.

If Pavarotti is dead, do not worry, we have a quick fix for him.
Iborotti is our homegrown musical miracle but intellectual failure. Real
name
Ibrahim Tatli, but uses the screen name of “Ibrahim Tatlises”, meaning
Abraham
Sweetvoice. He is the singer of the people, emperor to the arabesk
lovers, the
symbol of low culture for elitists and folk singer to the
state.

Bikini and Turkish Football

I should be stop writing about those issues. Unfortunately the devil inside me has woken up again... Hope you enjoy it

Who wants to see a gray haired retired referee with a belly wearing a bikini? The answer seems like most of the Fenerbahce fans want it!. After defeating Sevilla, Fenerbahce fans were like crazy. They have a sleepless night, lasting till early morning. I, as a Besiktas supporter, had also a sleepless night thanks to my kind neighbors.

Turkish Chilli solutions to Turkish problems

I am an optimist. Yes, everything may go horribly wrong, but still there are plentiful reasons to cheer up. It is always helpful to start solving problems by thinking that the glass is half full rather than saying glass is half empty.

Taming the Turkish Tiger with the Rotten Cyprus Fish

"How lucky we are in our candidacy to be an EU member. If you are not getting annoyed by US’s Middle East policy, why don’t you join us? Be a Turkish citizen and enjoy the full bounties. Oh Lord, we are so blessed, because the EU accepted us to be a candidate. At the end, we will be Europeans. There is no better gift to a nation on this earth than being an EU member."

Cat Stevens a.k.a. Yusuf Islam is back

Press here for the Youtube Video
That's some kind of a miracle. Yusuf Islam has made a marvelous comeback with his album "One other cup Yusuf". This is from Later with Jools Holland at BBC2 yesterday night. It is a great song called Midday. There are really great songs on his album. My favourite is "In the End" :
"You can’t bargain with the truth
‘Cause whether you’re right or you’re wrong
We’re going to know what you’ve done
We’re going to see where you belong – in the end
"

Ibrahim Tatlises's Bulamadim Video

The video is recorded by me, this is from his upcoming album on 15th November. Maybe some people may get suprised with this entry, but I enjoy his songs a lot. Especially the high-pitched second repeat is quite nice. A candidate to be among Ibo's classics...

A poem by Ibrahim Yildiz (1928-1994)

After long time, I am writing again to share this poem... It is from Ibrahim Yildiz, An Ibrahim on the Shore (kıyıda bir ibrahim)

English Translation by Baris Sanli: an ibrahim on the shore (kıyıda bir ibrahim)

He

you are on the shore of poetry, ibrahim
just washing your foot is never enough
horses do not flinch by themselves
carriages do not get tipped over...
yet, poetry is in between
fish and its bone –
leaf and its vein –
flower and its smell…
leave alone horses and carriages, ibrahim
the poetry is in between wheel and axle

turning

heating

creaking

(an ibrahim on the shore - Ibrahim Yildiz)

Turkish :
O

kıyısındasın şiirin ibrahim
ayaklarını yıkamak yetmez
ürkmez atlar kendiliğinden
araba devrilmez
oysa şiir balıkla kılçığı –
yaprakla damarı –
çiçekle kokusu arasındadır
bırak ibrahim atları arabaları
tekerlekle dingili arasındadır şiir

döner

ısınır

gıcırdar

What! Ten points for Armenia?

After weeks of silence, I wrote another useless article about Eurovision and Turkey's 10 points to Armenia...
I have been flooded with emails, which took me 2 days to answer all of them....
