"How lucky we are in our candidacy to be an EU member. If you are not getting annoyed by US’s Middle East policy, why don’t you join us? Be a Turkish citizen and enjoy the full bounties. Oh Lord, we are so blessed, because the EU accepted us to be a candidate. At the end, we will be Europeans. There is no better gift to a nation on this earth than being an EU member."

Cat Stevens a.k.a. Yusuf Islam is back
Press here for the Youtube Video
That's some kind of a miracle. Yusuf Islam has made a marvelous comeback with his album "One other cup Yusuf". This is from Later with Jools Holland at BBC2 yesterday night. It is a great song called Midday. There are really great songs on his album. My favourite is "In the End" :
"You can’t bargain with the truth
‘Cause whether you’re right or you’re wrong
We’re going to know what you’ve done
We’re going to see where you belong – in the end
"

Ibrahim Tatlises's Bulamadim Video
The video is recorded by me, this is from his upcoming album on 15th November. Maybe some people may get suprised with this entry, but I enjoy his songs a lot. Especially the high-pitched second repeat is quite nice. A candidate to be among Ibo's classics...

A poem by Ibrahim Yildiz (1928-1994)
After long time, I am writing again to share this poem... It is from Ibrahim Yildiz, An Ibrahim on the Shore (kıyıda bir ibrahim)
English Translation by Baris Sanli: an ibrahim on the shore (kıyıda bir ibrahim)
He
you are on the shore of poetry, ibrahim
just washing your foot is never enough
horses do not flinch by themselves
carriages do not get tipped over...
yet, poetry is in between
fish and its bone –
leaf and its vein –
flower and its smell…
leave alone horses and carriages, ibrahim
the poetry is in between wheel and axle
turning
heating
creaking
(an ibrahim on the shore - Ibrahim Yildiz)
Turkish :
O
kıyısındasın şiirin ibrahim
ayaklarını yıkamak yetmez
ürkmez atlar kendiliğinden
araba devrilmez
oysa şiir balıkla kılçığı –
yaprakla damarı –
çiçekle kokusu arasındadır
bırak ibrahim atları arabaları
tekerlekle dingili arasındadır şiir
döner
ısınır
gıcırdar
(kıyıda bir ibrahim)

What! Ten points for Armenia?
After weeks of silence, I wrote another useless article about Eurovision and Turkey's 10 points to Armenia...
I have been flooded with emails, which took me 2 days to answer all of them....

In the memory of Bekir Yagci
I was a high school student when he first started his job at TED Karabuk College as a physics teacher. Today, my childfood mate Mete has given me the sad news that Mr. Bekir Yagci has died in a traffic accident.
He was full of ambition and always helpful. He enjoyed working with students and there to help us.
Mr Yagci, although you are not with us now, we will remember you....
I wish God to save him.

In Paris....
Well, this is my picture in Paris, recently given to me. I think it was like the first week of February and we have done plenty of work in Paris. Unfortunately nearly all my pictures were taken during night time.
Also, I started a new technology blog in Turkish at
http://blogs.usakgundem.com/teknopark
I am still writing my satirical articles, there are 2 or 3 new ones.
Hope to post some more pictures here, if I can find them.....
